Free Fire EVO Gun – Complete List, Upgrade Guide & Tier Ranking
By Free Fire Nation Team • Free Fire Guns
EVO guns are the most powerful weapon skins in Free Fire — and the most misunderstood. Most players know they exist. Fewer know exactly how the upgrade system works, which EVO guns are actually worth investing 10,000+ diamonds into, or what the Level 6 passive abilities do that make maxed EVO weapons genuinely stronger than their base versions.
Here’s the truth about EVO guns: they’re not just cosmetics. A fully upgraded EVO weapon receives stat boosts (damage, rate of fire, accuracy), passive abilities (bonus damage to Gloo Walls, armor penetration, backstab damage), visual transformations (7 distinct visual stages), unique kill effects (animations that play when you eliminate someone), custom firing effects (bullet trails, muzzle effects, scope skins), and exclusive emotes tied to the weapon. A maxed EVO M1887 doesn’t just look different from a base M1887 — it hits harder, fires faster, and breaks Gloo Walls that a base M1887 can’t.
As of July 2026, there are 20+ EVO weapon skins in Free Fire spread across ARs, SMGs, shotguns, snipers, DMRs, and LMGs. Each one requires a specific type of upgrade token (Dragon Fang for Draco skins, Shark Tooth for Megalodon, Venomous Fang for Cobra, etc.), and maxing an EVO gun from Level 1 to Level 7 costs approximately 10,000–14,000 diamonds depending on your luck with token crate drops.
This guide is the complete EVO gun reference for Free Fire — every EVO weapon listed with its specific stat changes, Level 6 ability, token type, and tier ranking. Plus: how the Evo Vault event works, how to farm tokens efficiently, which EVO gun to invest in first, and answers to every question players ask about the EVO system.
What Are EVO Guns in Free Fire?
EVO guns (Evolution guns) are a special category of weapon skins that can be upgraded through multiple levels. Unlike regular skins — which give fixed stat buffs the moment you equip them — EVO skins start at Level 1 with minor visual changes and progressively unlock new appearances, stat boosts, effects, and abilities as you invest tokens and evolution materials to level them up.
The EVO system was introduced during Free Fire’s Booyah Day 2020 event with the first three EVO weapons: AK47 Blue Flame Draco, SCAR Megalodon Alpha, and UMP Booyah Day. Since then, Garena has released EVO skins for 20+ weapons across every weapon category.
Regular skin vs EVO skin — the key difference: A regular Legendary skin gives you fixed stat changes (e.g., Damage +, Rate of Fire +, Reload Speed −) the moment you equip it. An EVO skin gives you those stat changes AND additional unlocks at each upgrade level — visual transformations, kill effects, firing effects, scope skins, emotes, and crucially, a Level 6 passive ability that adds a gameplay mechanic no regular skin can provide.
EVO Gun Upgrade Path — How Leveling Works
Every EVO gun follows the same 7-level (some go to 8) upgrade structure. Here’s what each level unlocks:
| Level | Unlocks |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | New weapon appearance, base stat changes (Damage/RoF/etc.), custom kill feed name |
| Level 2 | Kill announcement — special notification appears in the kill feed when you eliminate someone |
| Level 3 | New weapon skin variant (second visual stage), optional elimination count display |
| Level 4 | Hit effect — visual impact effect appears on enemies when bullets hit, additional stat upgrades |
| Level 5 | Kill effect + Firing effect — unique animation plays on eliminations, bullet trail/muzzle effects added, scope skin |
| Level 6 | New weapon skin (third visual stage), PASSIVE ABILITY unlocked — this is the most important level |
| Level 7 | Final weapon skin (fourth visual stage), exclusive weapon emote, special title |
| Level 8 (some) | Final shot effect, reload effect, special sound |
Level 6 is the critical upgrade. This is where EVO guns gain a passive ability that genuinely changes how the weapon performs in combat. For example, SCAR Megalodon Alpha gains “bonus damage to helmets and armor” at Level 6 — effectively adding armor penetration to a weapon that normally has none. M1014 Green Flame Draco gains “extra damage to Gloo Walls” — turning a shotgun into a close-range wall breaker. These Level 6 abilities are the reason EVO guns are considered pay-to-win by some players, though Garena has stated that skin buffs are designed to be “meaningful but not dominant.”
How Much Do EVO Guns Cost?
Getting the EVO gun: EVO weapons are obtained through the Evo Vault event (Luck Royale spin system). Each spin costs 20 diamonds, or 11 spins for 200 diamonds (one free spin). Most EVO guns have a pity system — guaranteed within approximately 50 spins (~1,000 diamonds). However, luck varies widely. Some players get the EVO gun in 5 spins (100 diamonds). Others hit the pity at 50 spins (1,000 diamonds).
Upgrading Level 1 → Level 7: This is the expensive part. You need weapon-specific tokens (e.g., Dragon Fang for Draco skins, Shark Tooth for Megalodon skins) to level up. Tokens come from:
- Token crate boxes — purchased with diamonds (40 diamonds per box, gives 1–3 tokens)
- Event rewards — limited-time events sometimes award free tokens
- Evo Vault spins — duplicate spins give token fragments
- Direct purchase — tokens can sometimes be bought directly during special promotions
Total cost estimate (Level 1 → Level 7): Approximately 1,200–1,500 tokens needed to max an EVO gun. At 40 diamonds per token box (average 1.5 tokens per box), that’s roughly 32,000–40,000 diamonds if buying tokens directly. However, events and login rewards can reduce this by 30–50% for patient players. Realistically, most players spend 10,000–14,000 diamonds total (including acquisition + tokens from mixed sources) to max an EVO gun.
Should you max it? Level 1–4 provides visual and stat upgrades that are noticeable but not game-changing. Level 6 is the power spike — the passive ability is the biggest combat advantage. Level 7 adds the emote and final visual (flex value, no additional combat benefit). If budget is tight, aim for Level 6 minimum.

EVO Gun Tier Ranking (2026 Meta)
Not all EVO guns are created equal. Here’s the tier ranking based on how much the EVO version improves the weapon compared to its base form, the strength of the Level 6 passive ability, and the base weapon’s meta relevance.
S-Tier EVO Guns (Worth Every Diamond)
SCAR Megalodon Alpha — The best EVO gun overall. Transforms a mid-tier AR into a near-Groza-level weapon. Level 6 armor damage passive is genuinely game-changing on a weapon that normally has no armor pen. The most returned EVO in Evo Vault history — Garena knows it sells.
MP40 Predatory Cobra — The most popular EVO weapon among aggressive players. Backstab damage passive at Level 6 synergizes perfectly with MP40’s flank-and-spray playstyle. Damage ++ buff on an already fast-killing SMG is devastating.
MP40 Chromasonic — Directly fixes MP40’s biggest weakness (0% armor penetration) by adding AP at Level 6. In late-game ranked where everyone has armor, Chromasonic MP40 outperforms even Predatory Cobra.
AK47 Blue Flame Draco — The OG EVO gun. Gloo Wall bonus damage at Level 6 turns AK47 into both a damage dealer and a wall breaker. Still one of the most respected EVO weapons years after release.
UMP Booyah Day — Enhanced armor penetration stacking on a weapon that already has 63 base AP is absurd. Maxed EVO UMP ignores virtually all armor. One of the best value-for-diamond EVO investments.
M1887 Rapper Underworld — Gloo Wall bonus damage on a 100-damage shotgun. At close range, EVO M1887 destroys walls AND kills in the same shots. Terrifying in ranked.
Woodpecker Majestic Prowler — Enhanced armor damage on a weapon with 75 base AP. Maxed Woodpecker EVO deals near-true-damage against all armor levels. The best DMR investment.
AWM Legendary Beast — Bonus headshot damage on the only weapon that already one-shots through Level 3 helmets. Overkill? Maybe. But the extra damage ensures kills even through minor damage reductions.
Groza Bang! Popblaster — Enhanced close-range damage on the best overall AR. Makes Groza even more dominant at the distances where it’s already strongest.
A-Tier EVO Guns (Strong But Niche)
M4A1 Infernal Draco, XM8 Destiny Guardian, AUG Blazing Fracture, M1014 Green Flame Draco, M1014 Scorpio Shatter, AC80 Scorpio Bane, Thompson Cindered Colossus, SCAR Golden Shade Fury, M60 Dreambreaker.
B-Tier EVO Guns (Skip Unless You Main the Weapon)
AN94 Evil Howler, PARAFAL Lore Cyclone, MP5 Platinum Divinity, P90 Gilded Corrosion, G36 Netherworld Guardian.
How the Evo Vault Event Works
The Evo Vault is a monthly Luck Royale event where players spin to obtain EVO gun skins. Here’s how it works:
Rotation: Garena rotates 3–4 featured EVO weapons each month. Some are new releases; others are returning popular skins. The rotation changes on approximately the 1st–2nd of each month. Check your in-game Events tab for the current rotation.
Spin cost: 20 diamonds per single spin. 200 diamonds for 11 spins (effectively one free spin). The first spin in each new rotation is usually free.
Pity system: Most EVO guns have a soft pity around 30 spins and hard pity around 50 spins (~1,000 diamonds maximum). This means you’re guaranteed to receive at least one featured EVO weapon within 50 spins.
Duplicates: If you spin and receive an EVO gun you already own, you get token fragments for that weapon instead. This is actually useful for upgrading existing EVO weapons.
Which EVO gun do you get? Each spin can award any of the 3–4 featured weapons in the current rotation. You cannot choose which specific EVO gun you want — it’s random. If you only want one specific weapon from the rotation, you may need to spin multiple times past your first EVO drop.

| January 2026 | M60 Dreambreaker, MP5 Platinum Divinity, AK47 Blue Flame Draco, UMP Booyah Day |
How to Farm EVO Tokens Efficiently
Tokens are the bottleneck for EVO upgrades. Here’s how to acquire them without burning your diamond balance:
1. Evo Vault duplicate spins. When you already own an EVO gun and spin again in the Evo Vault, you receive token fragments for that weapon. If you own 2+ EVO guns in the current rotation, every spin generates useful tokens. This is the most diamond-efficient token source for players who already own multiple EVO weapons.
2. Token crate boxes. Available in the in-game store during active Evo Vault events. Costs 40 diamonds per box, gives 1–3 tokens randomly. This is the most direct but least efficient method — pure diamond-to-token conversion.
3. Event rewards. Garena regularly runs events that award free EVO tokens — login events, mission completion events, and special celebrations. Always claim these even if you don’t currently have the matching EVO weapon — tokens don’t expire, so you can stockpile them for future use.
4. Redeem codes. Occasionally, redeem codes include EVO token fragments. Follow our redeem codes page for daily updates.
5. Guild events. Some guild-based events award EVO tokens as group completion rewards. Active guild membership can provide 20–50 free tokens per month.
Pro tip: Don’t spread your tokens across multiple EVO weapons. Focus all tokens on ONE weapon until it reaches Level 6 (passive ability unlock). A single Level 6 EVO weapon is far more valuable than three Level 3 EVO weapons.
Which EVO Gun Should You Invest in First?
This is the most important decision for F2P and low-spending players. Here’s the priority order:
Priority 1 — The weapon you use most. If you main UMP, invest in UMP Booyah Day. If you main MP40, invest in Predatory Cobra or Chromasonic. The best EVO gun is the one you’ll actually use in every match.
Priority 2 — An S-Tier weapon. If you don’t have a clear main, invest in an EVO gun for an S-Tier meta weapon (Groza, M1887, UMP, MP40, Woodpecker, AWM, AK47). These weapons are strong enough that the EVO stat boost compounds on an already dominant platform.
Priority 3 — The Level 6 ability that fixes a weakness. SCAR Megalodon’s armor pen passive fixes SCAR’s biggest weakness. MP40 Chromasonic’s AP buff fixes MP40’s late-game falloff. UMP Booyah Day’s enhanced AP makes an already broken mechanic even stronger. Prioritize EVO guns whose Level 6 ability addresses the base weapon’s biggest limitation.
What to avoid: Don’t invest in EVO guns for B-Tier or C-Tier weapons unless you genuinely main them. AN94 Evil Howler and PARAFAL Lore Cyclone look cool but the base weapons aren’t meta-relevant enough to justify the diamond investment.
EVO Gun vs Regular Skin — Is It Worth the Cost?
This is the question every player asks before spending diamonds on an EVO weapon. Here’s the honest answer:
If you spend money on Free Fire regularly: Yes, EVO guns are the best long-term investment. They provide permanent stat boosts, visual upgrades that grow over time, and Level 6 abilities that genuinely affect gameplay. A maxed EVO gun is the single most impactful non-character upgrade in the game.
If you’re F2P or low-spend: Invest in ONE EVO gun for your most-used weapon and push it to Level 6 minimum. Don’t spread diamonds across multiple EVO weapons. A single Level 6 EVO UMP is worth more than three Level 2 EVO guns that look slightly different but provide minimal combat benefit.
If you play competitive/tournaments: EVO stat buffs are disabled in official Garena tournaments (FFWS, regional qualifiers). All weapons perform as base models. EVO guns are purely cosmetic in competitive. However, for ranked ladder climbing — where EVO buffs ARE active — they provide a measurable advantage.
EVO Guns vs Weapon Awakening (OB54)
The Weapon Awakening system introduced in OB54 is a completely separate upgrade system from EVO skins. Here’s how they differ:
EVO Guns: Permanent skin upgrades purchased with diamonds outside of matches. Apply to every match automatically when the skin is equipped. Level 6 passive ability is always active.
Weapon Awakening: Mid-match temporary upgrade using Upgrade Chips found during gameplay. Applies only to the current match. Gives the weapon boosted stats AND unlimited ammo. Cannot be purchased — must be found and used during the match.
Can you combine both? Yes. An EVO gun that gets awakened mid-match receives BOTH the EVO stat boosts AND the Awakening stat boosts. A maxed EVO M1887 that gets awakened becomes the most powerful single weapon possible in Free Fire — 100+ base damage, EVO damage buff, EVO Level 6 Gloo Wall damage, Awakening stat boost, AND unlimited ammo. This combination is why EVO guns on meta weapons are so dominant in ranked.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an EVO gun in Free Fire? An EVO (Evolution) gun is a special weapon skin that can be upgraded through 7+ levels using tokens. Each level unlocks new visual effects, stat boosts, and abilities. Level 6 unlocks a passive gameplay ability. EVO guns are obtained through the monthly Evo Vault event.
How many EVO guns are in Free Fire? As of July 2026, there are 20+ EVO weapon skins in Free Fire, including multiple EVO skins for some weapons (MP40 has two, SCAR has two, M1014 has two). New EVO weapons are added every 2–3 months.
Which is the best EVO gun in Free Fire? SCAR Megalodon Alpha is widely considered the best overall EVO gun because its Level 6 armor penetration passive transforms a mid-tier AR into a near-S-Tier weapon. For close range, MP40 Predatory Cobra is the best. For long range, Woodpecker Majestic Prowler is the best. See the full tier ranking above.
How much does an EVO gun cost? Getting the EVO gun from Evo Vault costs approximately 200–1,000 diamonds (50 spins max with pity). Upgrading from Level 1 to Level 7 costs approximately 10,000–14,000 additional diamonds in tokens. Total investment: roughly 10,000–15,000 diamonds for a maxed EVO weapon.
How to get EVO gun for free? EVO guns cannot be obtained entirely for free. The Evo Vault requires diamond spins. However, Garena occasionally gives free spins during special events (1–3 free spins per event), and free EVO tokens are available through login events, missions, and redeem codes. Patient free-to-play players can accumulate enough free spins over several months.
What is the Evo Vault in Free Fire? The Evo Vault is a monthly Luck Royale event where players spin to obtain EVO gun skins. Each spin costs 20 diamonds (200 for 11 spins). The event features 3–4 rotating EVO weapons each month. There’s a pity system guaranteeing an EVO gun within approximately 50 spins.
Do EVO gun buffs work in tournaments? No. In official Garena tournaments (FFWS, regional qualifiers), all weapon skin stat buffs — including EVO guns — are disabled. Weapons perform as base models. EVO guns are purely cosmetic in competitive play. However, EVO buffs ARE active in ranked ladder matches.
What is Level 6 passive ability? Level 6 is the EVO upgrade level where a passive gameplay ability unlocks. This ability is unique to each EVO weapon — examples include bonus damage to Gloo Walls (AK47 Blue Flame Draco), bonus damage to armor (SCAR Megalodon Alpha), backstab bonus damage (MP40 Predatory Cobra), and enhanced armor penetration (UMP Booyah Day).
Should I max EVO gun to Level 7? Level 6 is the minimum investment target — it unlocks the passive ability. Level 7 adds the exclusive emote and final visual stage but no additional combat benefit. If diamonds are limited, stop at Level 6. Level 7 is for flex value only.
Can I use EVO tokens on any EVO gun? No. Each EVO gun requires its own specific token type (Dragon Fang for Draco skins, Shark Tooth for Megalodon, Venomous Fang for Cobra, etc.). Tokens are not interchangeable between different EVO weapons.
EVO gun vs Weapon Awakening — what’s the difference? EVO guns are permanent skin upgrades purchased with diamonds. Weapon Awakening is a mid-match temporary upgrade found during gameplay. Both systems stack — an EVO gun that gets awakened receives both sets of buffs simultaneously. See our Weapon Awakening guide for details.
Which EVO gun should I invest in first? Invest in the EVO gun for the weapon you use most frequently. If you don’t have a clear main, prioritize S-Tier meta weapons: UMP Booyah Day, SCAR Megalodon Alpha, MP40 Predatory Cobra, or Woodpecker Majestic Prowler. Focus all resources on ONE weapon until Level 6.
